NEXT LEVEL STICKHANDLING
THE GAME IS DOMINATED BY SKILLED PLAYERS
From Mites to the NHL, coaches are looking for players with skill. Next Level Stickhandling instructors teach up to 27 different moves with combination moves but we focus on 8 core moves. These 8 core moves are the foundation to making you the best skilled player you can be and will make the greatest game in the world more fun to play.
Our 8 core moves are:
- Front Fake (left/right) - Side Fake - Zetterberg Slip Move - Gretzky move - Crosby Spin (backhand/forehand)
- Toe Drag (Pull-In Move) - Pull in Push Out (Fake Toe Drag)
- Fake Slap Shot
STICKHANDLING AGILITY:
EVERYTHING WE DO IN OUR SESSIONS WE DO WITH A PUCK
Our stickhandling agility or stick agility shows the player how to handle the puck all around the body which pushes the limits of the player’s imagination and comprehension of what they can do with a puck. Stickhandling agility is more demanding than any situation you/the player will face in a game, combine that with our 8 core moves and combinations and you will be on your way to dominating the game.
NLPDhas been playing, coaching, training, and teaching players the game of hockey for over 40 years. Many of the players that we have worked with (over 100) have reached hockey's most elite levels including the NHL, Major Junior, and NCAA D-I.
The game of hockey is getting quicker and faster. Today's game is played in close, tight spaces (a 10-20 ft. parameter), with stretches of open ice puck movement. Our emphasis is placed on creative puck control skills in small areas using mohawks, quick turns, spins, stutter steps, pivots, fakes, constant inside and outside edge skating work. Our off-ice dry land training helps define creative puck control skills. We run players through skill drills to teach them how to practice these skills so they can keep developing even while they are away from the ice.
Our staff is well trained to work with all players to make sure he/she develops at their own pace. All staff members have played at the junior, collegiate, or professional ranks.
INSIDE THE ELITE
NLPD's Torey Krug has signed a 3 year contract with the NHL's Boston Bruins!!!
After a 1st Team All-American selection, Hobey Baker Top Ten Finalist, and CCHA Player of the Year honors, Torey found himself in a fortunate position- with the Boston Bruins for the final two weeks of the NHL's regular season. In two games he averaged 17 minutes of ice time per game, registered three shots on goal, and had his first NHL point, an assist. Torey's first assist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uMh3EnzU-I
Never let anyone tell you that YOU ARE TOO SMALL! Or that you can't play at the next level! As you already know we work with some high end hockey players. One player in particular, we have been working with for his entire life and that is- NLPD's own Torey Krug.
Torey is everything that NLPD preaches- character, self awareness, persistence, work ethic, and challenging himself to be the best person he can everyday!
"The coaches at Next Level Player Development do a great job of teaching the skills and creativity that separate good players from elite players. The game of hockey is played at a fast pace and if you can't make plays and think at a high level you'll have trouble keeping up and performing. I use Next Level Player Development on assignment at my practices and they are excellent at what they teach"

"To get to the next level you need to know how to handle a puck while using the inside and outside edges of your skates. This is what Next Level Player Development focuses on and I would recommend this camp to all players."

"Coaches have put too much emphasis on team systems and not enough on the individual puck skills and creativity. Puck skills and creativity, that's what Next Level Player Development is all about."
NLPD works on four (4) quadrants of skill based on puck skills development.
1. Euro/North American Puck Skills
Puck multi-tasking, puck agility, eye hand coordi-nation, puck footwork, dribbling techniques, puck control around the body, and left brain/right brain concepts to create extreme puck confidence.
2. Edge Work Puck Skills
We will constantly work the inside and outside edges of their skates using tight turns, mohawks, spins, pivots, stutter steps, and work on quick feet. This is needed for puck protection techniques, balance, escape movement, and puck handling control. These skills are essential in the development of all hockey players.
3. Puck Strength Skills
Designed to help players strengthen core puck movements such as control hand, two hands wide, two hand switch, Support hand, etc... This skill set helps players understand how be strong on the puck. This training is the core of our quadrants.
4. Scoring or Finishing Techniques
Changing the shot angle, shooting in-stride, shooting in and through traffic, rebound work, screens, tips (general & stick placement),one timers (around the net),and two foot explosion (weight transfer, stick bend, and hiding the release).
Our camps are structured and educational but most of all...they're FUN!!!
"The greatest hockey drills ever to be drawn by man along with the most fail safe plays imaginable are all worthless, unless your players have the skills required to execute them"
